New Christian Discipleship Manual

Introduction

This manual is designed to guide new believers in understanding the foundations of the Christian faith. Each lesson builds upon the previous one, helping establish a strong relationship with God and a clear understanding of biblical principles.

Lesson 1: Salvation and New Life in Christ

Key Scriptures: John 3:16, 2 Corinthians 5:17, Romans 10:9-10

Teaching Points:

  • God’s love for the world is deeper than we can fully understand. Because of that love, He made a way for us to be saved through Jesus. No matter who we are or what we’ve done, His desire is to bring us back into relationship with Him.
  • The Bible reminds us in Romans 3:23 that “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” This means every person has missed the mark of God’s perfect standard. Sin separates us from Him, and on our own we can’t fix that separation.
  • But the good news is that God didn’t leave us there. Through faith in Jesus, we receive forgiveness and the gift of a restored relationship with God. When we trust Him, He doesn’t just forgive our past—He gives us a completely new beginning.
  • Jesus described this transformation as being born again. When we come to Him in faith, the old life—defined by sin, guilt, and separation—begins to fade away. In its place, God gives us a new life filled with purpose, hope, and the presence of Christ.
  • Today, remember this: your past does not define you. In Christ, you are invited into a brand-new life.
  • Reflection 🙏
  • Have you trusted Jesus with your life and allowed Him to make you new? If so, how can you live today in the freedom and hope He has given you?

Discussion Questions:

  • According to John 3: 1-8 What does it mean to be “born again”?
  • How does knowing Jesus personally change your life?
  • Why is salvation a gift and not earned?

Practical Application:

  • Reflect on your personal relationship with Jesus.
  • Begin daily prayer: “Jesus, thank You for allowing me to learn about you. Teach me to follow You.”
