Devotion<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

One of the marks of genuine spiritual maturity is not thinking more highly of ourselves\u2014it is thinking more highly of God and more honestly about ourselves. As we grow in our knowledge of God’s Word, we should also grow in humility. The closer we come to Christ, the more we recognize our dependence on Him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The apostle Paul warned that “knowledge puffs up, but love builds up” (1 Corinthians 8:1). Knowledge is a wonderful gift, but if it is not accompanied by love, it can become a source of pride. It is possible to know many Bible verses, understand deep theology, and still have a heart that is cold, critical, or self-righteous.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

True spiritual growth produces the opposite effect. It softens our hearts, increases our compassion, and reminds us that everything we have is a gift of God’s grace. We become more patient with others because we remember how patient God has been with us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

James reminds us that God gives His grace to the humble. Humility is not thinking less of yourself; it is thinking of yourself rightly before God. It is recognizing that every victory, every blessing, and every step of growth comes from His gracious hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, ask God not only to increase your knowledge of Him but also to increase your humility. A humble heart is fertile soil where God’s grace continues to produce lasting spiritual fruit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prayer<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your amazing grace. Guard my heart from pride as I grow in my knowledge of You. Help me to love others, serve them with humility, and remember that every good thing I have comes from You. Give me a teachable spirit and a heart that reflects the character of Christ. In Jesus’ name, Amen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
