Faithfulness in the Midst of Trials<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Key Thought<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Faithfulness may bring opposition, but God strengthens us through trials, and endurance develops spiritual maturity.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Faithfulness May Bring Opposition<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Following God does not mean that everyone will appreciate or agree with us. Sometimes, doing what is right will bring opposition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jesus warned His disciples that they would face difficulties because they followed Him. Paul also experienced rejection, persecution, and suffering because he faithfully proclaimed the truth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We should not assume that opposition means we are doing something wrong. Sometimes opposition is simply the result of being faithful to God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our responsibility is not to avoid opposition, but to remain faithful in the midst of it.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. God Strengthens Believers During Trials<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

When trials come, God does not leave His people to face them alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There will be times when we feel weak, discouraged, or even overwhelmed. But God promises to provide the strength we need. He may not immediately remove the trial, but He will sustain us through it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paul learned this truth when God told him:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMy grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.\u201d
\u2014 2 Corinthians 12:9<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our weakness can actually become an opportunity to experience God’s strength more deeply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Endurance Develops Spiritual Maturity<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Trials can accomplish something in our lives that comfort cannot always accomplish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

James 1:2\u20134 teaches that the testing of our faith produces patience, and that patience helps us become mature and complete.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Endurance is developed by continuing to trust God when circumstances are difficult. Every time we remain faithful through a trial, our faith is strengthened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We may not enjoy the trial, but God can use the trial to make us more like Christ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Putting It Together<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Faithfulness \u2192 opposition \u2192 dependence upon God \u2192 endurance \u2192 spiritual maturity.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The trial may be difficult, but God can use it for our good. When opposition comes, don’t give up. When you feel weak, depend upon God’s strength. When the trial continues, keep trusting Him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prayer<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

\u201cLord, help me to remain faithful when following You brings opposition. Give me strength when I am weak and endurance when trials become difficult. Use every trial in my life to strengthen my faith and make me more spiritually mature. Help me to keep my eyes on You and remain faithful to the end. Amen.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
