Faith and Trusting God
Lesson 21: Faith and Trusting God
Key Scriptures: Hebrews 11:1, Proverbs 3:5-6, Romans 10:17
Teaching Points:
- Walking by Faith
- “Faith is trusting God even when we cannot see the outcome.”
- Faith often requires stepping into the unknown. It means trusting God’s character when the path ahead is unclear. Even when circumstances feel uncertain, faith reminds us that God is still in control and that His plans are good. We may not see the outcome, but we can trust the One who holds it.
- “Faith grows by hearing and applying God’s Word.”
- Faith is not static—it grows. As we spend time in Scripture, our understanding of who God is becomes deeper, and our trust in Him becomes stronger. But faith doesn’t stop at hearing; it is strengthened by applying what we learn. Each step of obedience builds confidence in God’s faithfulness.
- “Trusting God means surrendering control and relying on His wisdom.”
- Trust requires letting go. It means releasing our need to control every detail and choosing instead to depend on God’s wisdom. His ways are higher than ours, and His perspective is perfect. Surrender is not giving up—it’s giving God room to lead.
- Today, choose to trust Him, even if you cannot see the full picture. Walk by faith, and let His Word guide your steps.
- Reflection:
- What area of your life is God inviting you to trust Him more deeply?
- Prayer:
- Lord, increase my faith. Help me to trust You when I cannot see the outcome. Teach me to rely on Your Word and to surrender control to You. Guide me in Your wisdom each day. Amen.
Discussion Questions:
- What areas of your life are hardest to trust God with?
- How does faith differ from feelings?
- How can you grow stronger in faith?
Practical Application:
- Identify one area where you need to trust God more.
- Pray daily, surrendering that area to Him.
- Meditate on Proverbs 3:5-6 throughout the week.
