Lesson 80: Faithfulness in Small Things

Key Scriptures: Luke 16:10, Zechariah 4:10

Teaching Points:

Faithful in the Little Things

Scripture: “His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You were faithful over a few things; I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.'” — Matthew 25:21 (NKJV)

God does not measure success the way people often do. We tend to admire large crowds, impressive accomplishments, and public recognition. God, however, looks for something deeper—faithfulness. He delights in those who consistently obey Him, whether their work is seen by many or by only Him.

Small acts of obedience are never insignificant. A kind word, a quiet prayer, an encouraging conversation, faithful Bible reading, or serving someone in need may seem ordinary, but God uses these simple acts to accomplish His purposes. Every step of obedience is an opportunity to honor Christ.

Many of the greatest ministries in Scripture began with humble beginnings. David faithfully cared for sheep before becoming king. The disciples faithfully followed Jesus before they preached to the nations. God often prepares His servants through small responsibilities before entrusting them with greater ones.

Instead of longing for bigger opportunities, let us be faithful with what God has placed before us today. As we walk in obedience one step at a time, He will accomplish His will through our lives in ways we may never have imagined.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, help me to be faithful in the small things. Give me a willing heart to obey You each day, even when my service seems unnoticed. Teach me to trust that You are using every act of faithfulness for Your glory. May my life bring honor to You, one obedient step at a time. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  • What small responsibilities has God given you?
  • Why are small things important?
  • How does faithfulness prepare us for greater opportunities?
