Hearing God Through Scripture

Lesson 46: Hearing God Through Scripture

Key Scriptures: Hebrews 4:12, Psalm 119:105

Teaching Points:

Hearing God Clearly

Scripture Reading

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” — Psalm 119:105

Devotional

Many people long for direction in life. We wonder what decisions to make, how to respond to trials, and how to grow in wisdom. Yet God has not left His children in darkness. He speaks clearly through His Word.

The Bible is not vague or confusing in what matters most. Through Scripture, God reveals His character, His will, and His wisdom for daily living. While we may not always receive instant answers to every question, the Word of God gives clarity for the path before us. It teaches us how to think, how to live, and how to walk faithfully.

Often the problem is not that God is silent, but that we are inconsistent in listening. Just as daily meals strengthen the body, daily time in Scripture strengthens understanding. Consistency builds familiarity with God’s truth. Over time, patterns become clear, wisdom grows, and discernment deepens.

A believer who regularly reads, studies, and meditates on Scripture will begin to recognize God’s ways more clearly. His Word renews the mind, steadies the heart, and directs the steps of those who seek Him faithfully.

God still speaks clearly today — through the pages of His Word.
