Spiritual Dry Seasons
Lesson 39: Spiritual Dry Seasons
Key Scriptures: Psalm 42:1–2, Isaiah 40:31
Devotional Thought:
Every believer experiences seasons when God feels distant. Prayer may seem quiet, worship may feel empty, and spiritual excitement may fade. These dry seasons can be discouraging, but they are not signs that God has abandoned us. Often, they are part of how He deepens and strengthens our faith.
God’s presence does not depend on our emotions. He remains faithful whether we feel close to Him or not. In dry seasons, we learn to trust His promises more than our feelings. This kind of faith becomes rooted and steady because it is built on truth rather than emotion.
Some of the deepest spiritual growth happens in moments when we choose to keep praying, obeying, and trusting even when we do not feel inspired. God uses these seasons to teach perseverance, dependence, and maturity.
A dry season is not the end of your spiritual journey—it may be the place where your faith grows strongest.
Reflection Question:
How can you continue trusting God faithfully even when you do not feel emotionally encouraged?
Prayer:
Lord, help me trust You in every season, especially when You seem distant. Remind me that Your presence never leaves me, even when my feelings change. Strengthen my faith so that I continue walking with You by trust and not by emotion. Amen.

- How do you stay faithful when you don’t feel close to God?
