Lesson 68: Eternal Rewards and Faithfulness
Key Scriptures: Matthew 6:19–20, 1 Corinthians 3:12–15
Teaching Points:
Living with Eternity in Mind
Scripture: “So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” — 2 Corinthians 4:18
It is easy to become consumed with the things of this world—our possessions, accomplishments, disappointments, and daily concerns. Yet Scripture reminds us that earthly things are temporary. Everything we see around us will one day pass away, but the things of God will endure forever.
Because eternal things last forever, the believer’s life should be guided by an eternal perspective. Acts of love, obedience, faithfulness, and service to Christ are never wasted. Even the smallest act done for the glory of God has lasting significance in His kingdom. The Lord sees every faithful deed and promises eternal rewards to those who serve Him faithfully.
Therefore, believers should live with eternity in mind. Our priorities, decisions, and investments of time should reflect the reality that we are citizens of heaven. As we walk with Christ each day, may we focus not merely on what is temporary, but on what will last forever.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, help us to live with eternity in view. Teach us to invest our lives in things that matter forever and to serve You faithfully each day. May our hearts be fixed on Christ and His eternal kingdom. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
