Lesson 79: Discipling Others

Key Scriptures: Matthew 28:19–20, 2 Timothy 2:2

Teaching Points:

Making Disciples: Growing Together in Christ

Scripture: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations… teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” — Matthew 28:19–20

Every believer has been given the privilege and responsibility of making disciples. Jesus did not reserve this calling for pastors, missionaries, or church leaders alone. Every follower of Christ is called to help others know Him, grow in Him, and obey His Word.

Spiritual growth is never meant to stop with us. As God teaches, encourages, and strengthens us, He intends for us to share those blessings with others. We can disciple others through prayer, teaching God’s Word, offering encouragement, setting a godly example, and walking alongside fellow believers through life’s challenges.

Mature believers have a special responsibility to help create new Christians and help younger Christians grow in their faith. Just as someone once invested in us, we should invest in others. This kind of discipleship strengthens the church, deepens relationships, and brings glory to God as each generation faithfully passes the truth to the next.

Today, ask God to show you someone you can encourage and help grow in Christ. As we faithfully make disciples, we continue the work Jesus entrusted to His church.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for calling me to follow Christ and to help others follow Him as well. Continue to grow me in Your Word, and give me a heart that is willing to encourage, teach, and serve others. Help me to be faithful in making disciples for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
